Living In the Past @ 5:14 PM

In life, the only time "living in the past" is a good thing is when it's in regards to fashion. I love how recently I've been really inspired by swimwear of the 1940s. The concept of "less is more" was something society felt was important in those days. It often seems that today that concept has fallen through the cracks and been lost forever. Luckily, the simple, modest design of the bathing suits from the 40s is beginning to show itself more and more this summer.

Classic 1940s style bathing suits.

Marilyn pulled the look off best.

I like to pair high-waisted shorts with a bandeau top.

Trying the trend again on Delray Beach.

I'm in love with my new oversized floppy hat.

South Florida sunrises are the best!

The Nylon Tricot High-Waisted Swim Briefs from American Apparel are perfection if you're looking to mimmic the trend.

Love the white shorts with the bandeau top! And of course, the floppy hat! Summer at it's best...
